This breed of dog is also known as “Chien de Berger Belge” or “Belgian Sheepdog. The term Belgian Shepherd Dog refers to any of the below mentioned four varieties:

In Belgium, this dog breed is considered as one breed whereas in certain FCI countries they are regarded as separate breeds.

Appearance

The average weight of a Belgian Shepherd Dog is about 65 to 75 pounds whereas its height ranges between 24 to 26 inches. The coat of a Belgian Shepherd dog includes four different kinds.

Temperament

This breed of dog is extremely intelligent and loyal to their owners. They are quite fun-loving and protective towards their owners. You need to socialize them properly or else chances are quite likely that they may turn out to be irritating dogs, disturbing everybody now and then. They need substantial amount of interaction as well as exercise. They are good learners and grasp the training provided to them quite easily. However, you need to modify their training from time to time as they become bored with the same training sessions.

Health

The average life span of a Belgian shepherd dog is about twelve to fourteen years. Aging, cancer, stroke, liver, kidney and heart problems as well as cerebral vascular problems are some of the common causes that lead to their death.

I have no qualms in recommending the Secrets to Dog Training package to anyone who owns, or is thinking about owning, a dog. You don’t need to have a “problem pet” for the book to be of assistance: there’s information included that can be useful to any and all dog owners.

From personal experience, the only other thing I would do is upgrade to the Secrets to Dog Training premium version because it has an online video series that is excellent as well as software which allows you to keep track of all the necessary and important details about your dog such as medical history, vaccinations, operations, appointments, obedience training, and much more.
